Lanny Layman is retired president and CEO at Standard Sales Company L.P.
 
Layman began his career with Standard Sales Company L.P. following his graduation from Texas Tech University. He served in numerous positions within the company, culminating with his leadership role as president and CEO.
 
Active in his profession, he served on the Anheuser-Busch Wholesaler Panel. In his third year on the panel, Layman was elected by his fellow wholesalers as panel chairman. He later went on to serve as chairman emeritus in his fourth and final year on the panel. After 41 years of service with the company, Layman retired in 2018.
 
As a longtime civic leader in the San Angelo area, Layman has volunteered with many organizations which include United Way of the Concho Valley, Concho Valley Council of Governments, West Texas Training Center, City of San Angelo Development Corporation, Howard College Foundation, Johnson Street Church of Christ, and San Angelo Independent School District Board. In 2001, he was recognized as Leader of the Year by Leadership San Angelo Alumni Association. Currently, he serves as a member and board chairman for the Concho Valley Turning Point Ministry, a non-profit that serves men and women who are currently on parole or recovering from substance abuse.
 
Layman supports both Angelo State University and Texas Tech University through his involvement in the Angelo State University President’s Circle, Red Raider Club, and Texas Tech Alumni Association.
 
Layman began his studies at Angelo State University and went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in history from Texas Tech University in 1977. He and his wife, Joni, a graduate of Texas Tech University, have two children – Erin, a two-time graduate of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and Haley, a graduate of Texas Tech University.
