Nathan Rice, C.F.R.E., is senior director of gift planning for Institutional Advancement, where he helps donors achieve their philanthropic goals through gifts from wills, trusts, retirement assets and other financial and tax planning methods.
After graduating college, Rice volunteered in Honduras with the Peace Corps before beginning his career in personal and real estate lending for Citigroup. He then served as sales director and deputy executive director for the Champaign County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau in Champaign, Illinois.
In 2009, Rice returned to Lubbock as director of alumni relations for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where his role expanded to include development responsibilities for the School of Medicine. Building on his fundraising experience, he soon became a director of development for the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts at Texas Tech University. He joined the Texas Tech University System as a gift planning officer with Institutional Advancement in 2014.
Rice received his undergraduate degree in public relations with a minor in Spanish and his master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Texas Tech University. He also holds a graduate certificate in charitable financial planning from institution. His wife, Lynsey, is also a Texas Tech University graduate.
