Dr. Jason Penry

Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations

Jason Penry is vice president for development and alumni relations for Angelo State University. As Angelo State University’s chief fundraising officer, Penry oversees the university’s advancement program, including the annual fund, donor cultivation, major gifts, capital campaign implementation and foundation support. Penry reports to Texas Tech University System Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement Kelly Overley and Angelo State University President Joseph C. Rallo.

Before his arrival to the Concho Valley, Penry worked the last two and a half years as executive director of the Oklahoma State University POSSE, the fundraising arm of athletics. During his tenure, the organization raised $26 million in annual fund revenues and increased membership 61 percent over a two-year period. Prior to serving Oklahoma State University, he worked three years with the 12th Man Foundation at Texas A&M University as a development officer for major gifts. In that capacity he assisted in the successful completion of a $50 million capital campaign for Texas A&M athletics.

A native Texan, Penry holds his Ph.D. in higher education administration from Texas A&M University. He earned a Master of Science degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Penry received a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, where he was student body president and a member of the intercollegiate baseball team.
