Texas Tech Foundation Selects Officers, New Board Members

Directors of the Texas Tech Foundation elected new officers and approved 11 new members during their quarterly meeting today (Aug. 13) at the Texas Tech University campus.
About the Foundation
Established in 1939, the Texas Tech Foundation supports and promotes all colleges, schools, programs and campuses of the Texas Tech University System.
R. Don Cash of Lubbock, Texas, was elected chairman of the board. Nancy E. Jones of Fort Worth, Texas, was elected vice chairman. Alan R. Henry of Lubbock, Texas, was elected secretary.
Cash, who is completing a term as vice chairman, will replace outgoing chairman John C. Owens when the new officers begin their two-year appointments on Sept. 1.
“I am honored by the opportunity to continue my service to the Texas Tech Foundation with my fellow officers,” said Cash. “Our institutions are doing great things, and I’m excited about the role the foundation will have in advancing the Texas Tech University System.”
The 11 new directors approved to four-year terms beginning in September are:
- David Alderson of Lubbock, Texas, president and chief executive officer of Alderson Enterprises L.P.
- Bradley C. Barron of San Antonio, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of NuStar Energy L.P.
- Kenneth L. Burgess Sr. of Abilene, Texas, owner of Ken Burgess Inc.
- H. Craig Evans of Dallas, owner and president of S.C. Companies
- Fern “Missy” Finck of San Antonio, owner of Finck Properties
- Terry E. Fuller of Southlake, Texas, president of Phoenix Petrocorp
- Robert B. Horsman of San Diego, Calif., founder, president and chief executive officer of San Diego National Bank
- Matt E. Malouf of Dallas, owner of Malouf Interests Inc.
- Robert R. Matejek of Dallas, former president and chief operating officer of Merit Energy Company
- H. Christopher Mott of El Paso, Texas, attorney and shareholder of Gordon, Mott & Davis P.C.
- R. Randall Onstead Jr. of Houston and Santa Fe, N.M., principal of Lone Star Retail Partners LLC
“The experience these men and women bring to the foundation board is important for the future of our institutions,” said Kelly Overley, vice chancellor for institutional advancement and chief operating officer of the foundation. “They will strengthen our board and enable the foundation to continue to support the programs that create an excellent academic experience for all of our students.”
