Created to honor student callers who raise more than $25,000 during their time as an annual fund caller, the semi-annual awards event brings important recognition to an often unrecognized group of individuals who support academic programs at Texas Tech.
“Our student callers provide an important connection between Texas Tech and our alumni and donors who provide annual support of our academic programs,” said Senior Director of Annual Giving Programs Deborah Finlayson. “These students are to be congratulated for their efforts that have provided crucial financial support for so many great things happening here at Texas Tech.”
Topping the list of honorees at the $100,000 fundraising level were Abby Spears, an advertising and Spanish double major from Fort Worth, Texas, and Chaille Steed, also an advertising and Spanish double major from Carrollton, Texas.
Students recognized for raising $50,000 included Michael Beltran, an electronic media and communication major from Georgetown, Texas; Jazzmin Bullard, a psychology and pre-law major from Houston; Brittney Mahlum, a marketing major from Austin, Texas; and Tiffany Oswald, a marketing major from Houston.
Lane Petrosky, an advertising major from Austin, Texas, was recognized for reaching the $25,000 mark.
Since the creation of the $25,000 pyramid awards, 82 students have been recognized for fundraising efforts totaling more than $3 million dollars.
