The $25,000 Pyramid award recognizes students working in the Office of Annual Giving Programs who raise at least $25,000 from Texas Tech as student callers. This year’s awards were presented by Associate Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement Scotty W. Cooksey and Senior Director of Annual Giving Programs Deborah Finlayson during a lunch recognizing the recipients on Nov. 6.
Ashley Averitte, a restaurant, hotel and institutional management major from Fort Worth, Texas, was recognized for reaching the $100,000 level.
Students who raised $50,000 included Trey Alcorn, an accounting major from Fort Hancock, Texas; and Kevin Halls, an accounting major from Nacogdoches, Texas.
Reaching the $25,000 level were Darci Barney, a math and microbiology dual major from Lubbock, Texas; Ashlee Hiers a public relations major from Arlington, Texas; and Nicolette Onadele, an economics major from Waxahachie, Texas.
The Annual Fund caller program gives students a unique opportunity to raise money to support academic programs at Texas Tech while gaining valuable professional experience. To date, 86 students have been recognized for their fundraising contributions to Texas Tech.
