J. Robert Brown

J. Robert Brown is president of Brownco Capital LLC, and former president and chairman of the board of Desert Eagle Distributing of El Paso, distributors of Anheuser-Busch products.

Brown currently serves on the board of directors of El Paso Electric Company, Bank of the West, Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission, Medical Center of the Americas Foundation and The University of Texas at El Paso Development Board. He is a member of the Board of Fellows at the University of Texas at El Paso and the State Bar of Texas. Brown is the current vice chairman of the Leadership Council for The University of Texas at El Paso’s Centennial Campaign and a director of El Paso Regional Economic Development Corp. He is past chairman and vice chairman of the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents and past chairman of the board of directors of the El Paso Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

Brown, a 1968 graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Administration and Marketing, was honored as the 2004 Distinguished Alumnus for the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business. He and his wife, Sherry, have three children.
