R. Don Cash
R. Don Cash is retired chairman of Cash Family Investments that includes ranching operations, investment companies, and the Don-Kay-Clay Cash Foundation. He is also chairman emeritus of Questar Corporation, an integrated natural gas company headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.
During his career with Questar, Cash served in several leadership roles from 1977 to 2005 including chairman, CEO and president. He has served as a director of Zions Bancorporation, Natural Fuel Gas, TODCO, Associated Electric and Gas Insurance Services, and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Ranching Heritage Association, a non-profit organization established to preserve the heritage of the ranching industry in North America through the support of the National Ranching Heritage Center at Texas Tech University.
Cash also served as a former trustee of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2002, the organization responsible for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
Cash holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Texas Tech University. He is married to Kay Cash, who graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in education. The couple has one son, Clay, who graduated from Texas Tech University in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in business, a daughter-in-law, Ashley, and three grandsons, Collin, Cannon and Carson.
