Vice Chairman
Former Texas Tech Regent Nancy E. Jones is the founding president of the Community Foundation of North Texas. Jones served on the Texas Tech Board of Regents from 1997–2003, serving as chairman of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee from 1999–2001 and vice chairman from 2001–2002.
Jones is currently the chairman of the advisory board for the Texas Tech University Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering’s Abilene campus and also serves on the Department of Computer Science’s external advisory board for the Whitacre College of Engineering. She is a member of the National Advisory Board of the Laura W. Bush Women’s Health Institute at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Jones has completed her term of the board of directors of the Council on Foundations in Washington. She has been a member of the Community Foundation Leadership Team and other field-wide leadership groups.
Jones is a faculty member of the Community Foundation Institute, teaching Community Foundation Fundamentals and Finance and Administration for Community Foundations. She is married to Ross Jones, a 1958 graduate of Texas Tech University. They have three children, who all attended Texas Tech University, and 12 grandchildren.
