Kenneth L. Burgess Sr.
Established in 1939, the Texas Tech Foundation supports and promotes all colleges, schools, programs and campuses of the Texas Tech University System.
Kenneth L. Burgess Sr. is owner of Ken Burgess Inc. He is also director for the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, chairman of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center Foundation Board and a member of the advisory council for the West Texas Coalition for Innovation and Commercialization.
Before starting his own company, Burgess served as chairman and CEO of Security State Bank and CEO of American State Bank. He is a member of the Texas Tech University System Chancellor’s Council.
Burgess received his degree in animal production from Texas Tech University in 1952. His wife, Sue, received her degree in food and nutrition from Texas Tech University in 1954. They have three grown children: Kenneth L. Burgess Jr., who received a degree in accounting from Texas Tech University in 1978; Greg Burgess, who received a degree in finance from Texas Tech University in 1980; and Brad D. Burgess who received a degree in finance from Texas Tech University in 1984.
