Donald R. Sinclair
Donald R. Sinclair is senior advisor to Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.
From 2009 to 2017 he served as CEO of Western Gas Partners, a publicly-traded midstream master limited partnership with a market capitalization of more than $9 billion formed by Anadarko and operating in the Rocky Mountains, Pennsylvania and Texas. From 2012 to 2017 he also served as CEO of Western Gas Equity Partners, LP, a separate publicly-traded master limited partnership that owns the general partner of Western Gas Partners. While serving as chief executive of the Western Gas entities, he was named vice president of Anadarko in 2010 before being promoted to senior vice president in 2013.
Prior to joining Anadarko and Western Gas, Sinclair was a founding partner of Ceritas Energy, LLC, a midstream energy company headquartered in Houston with operations in Texas, Wyoming and Utah. He served as president of the company from 2003 to 2009.
Sinclair has worked in the oil and gas industry for more than 35 years, with a focus on marketing and trading and the midstream sector. He is chairman of the Rawls College of Business Advisory Council and a member of the Academy of Petroleum Engineering at Texas Tech University. He also serves on The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors and is a trustee of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church .
Sinclair earned a bachelor of business administration degree in management from Texas Tech University.
