Brad Bouma

A fifth-generation dairy farmer, Bouma was born and raised in southern California. For the past 35 years, he has focused much of his efforts on operating agriculture facilities in west Texas. During his career, Bouma has operated dairy facilities in California and New Mexico, he continues to operate in Texas, Indiana and Ohio. In 2004, he established Legacy Farms, a dairy farm in Plainview.

He co-founded and currently serves as chairman emeritus of the Select Milk Producers, Inc. board of directors. Select launched a milk filtration system that led to the development of Core Power drinks and Fairlife Milk in partnership with Coca-Cola. Brad continues to serve on the Fairlife board of directors. As president of Select Milk Producers, he was a key driver in the development and construction of Continental Dairy Facilities Southwest, a state-of-the-art
butter and milk powder plant in Littlefield. He is co-founder and part-owner of Indiana-based Fair Oaks Farms. He serves on Breedlove Foods, Inc. board of directors. He has served on the First National Bank of El Paso’s board of directors and the Texas Animal Health Commission. Brad was honored by the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources where he received the Outstanding Agriculturalist Award for Agribusiness in 2019.

Bouma, and his wife, Barbara, have three children – Brandon, Breanne and Brent, and they are blessed with nine grandchildren. Their sons and their families live on the farm in Plainview and are partners in the businesses. Breanne and her husband Jarred live in Lubbock where he is on faculty at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center.
