Eric E Rasmussen

Eric E Rasmussen is an associate professor of public relations at Texas Tech University, where he also directs the doctoral program in public relations in the College of Media & Communication.
Crediting his wife and four daughters as the inspiration for his research, Rasmussen studies how media affects children’s well-being and how parents alter the media’s influence on children. Supported by a private grant from The Fred Rogers Company and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, his work is regularly published in his field’s top academic journals. It is also reaches beyond higher education to media outlets that include the BBC, NPR, Yahoo! News, Parents Magazine, the New York Post, PBS Parents, Huffington Post, and others. He also conducts seminars and workshops for mental health professionals, educators and parents.
Rasmussen holds a doctorate from The Ohio State University and received his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Brigham Young University.
